Promoted by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, the SIEMENS SA Portugal, and the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, the PhD Program in Computational Biology is a pilot program running since 2005 with the aim of ensuring the training of a limited number of PhD in this area at an internationally competitive level. Jorge Carneiro is the Program Director.

was held in 2009 and promoted an open discussion among PhD students, postdocs, and several internationally successful professionals with very different and exciting career paths. It offered insights into a broad array of careers ranging from Science Communication to Technology Entrepreneurship. It was organized in the context of the PhD Program in Computational Biology, by Margarida Prado, David Cristina and Jorge Carneiro.
The first Portuguese Forum on Computational Biology was held in 2008, and aimed to be the first edition of a regular annual gathering of portuguese and internationalresearchers to communicate and discuss recent progress and key issues in the field.It was an initiative of the students of the PhD Program in Computational Biology, and jointly promoted by the FLAD Computational Biology Collaboratorium. It was organised by Ana Paula Leite, Bruno Emanuel Correia, Luis Figueiredo, Pedro Tiago Monteiro, and Jorge Carneiro.

ImagIS: Practical Course on Image Acquisition in Immunology. Oeiras, June 12-18, 2010 Organized by Carlos Tadokoro (IGC), Iris Caramalho (IMM) and Jorge Carneiro, ImagIS is a hands-on course on imaging acquisition in the immune system. During one week, the participants will be given the opportunity to perform a full image acquisition experiment, using state of the art imaging tecniques.
